Squid Game’s Return and Netflix’s Gaming Expansion
Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has announced that the highly anticipated second season will premiere on December 26, 2024, with a third and final season set for next year.
Squid Game: Unleashed is developed by Boss Fight, a studio acquired by Netflix in 2022. The game captures the essence of the series with its unique challenges, presented in a playful, polygonal style.
Netflix has been investing heavily in its gaming arm, with nearly 80 games currently in development, many of which draw from its extensive library of intellectual properties. This move signals Netflix’s ambition to disrupt the gaming industry as it continues to expand beyond traditional streaming.
Squid Game: Unleashed could be a significant step forward in Netflix’s gaming journey, adding another layer to the franchise’s global appeal.
As the gaming world eagerly anticipates the release, fans of the show can look forward to experiencing the tension and thrills of Squid Game in an interactive format, all while Netflix strengthens its position in the gaming sector.
